ISEE / SSAT

SAT English - Reading & Writing
Craft and Structure
- encompass tasks related to word definitions, text evaluation, and establishing connections between different parts of the text. In this segment, students demonstrate their ability to select the most fitting word for a given blank, relying on contextual clues from the passage. This category constitutes 28% of the section and includes 13 to 15 questions.
Information and Ideas
- focus on extracting information from the text, understanding central ideas, utilizing evidence to answer questions, and making inferences to interpret specific textual meanings. Comprising 26% of the section, this category involves 12 to 14 questions.

Information and Ideas
- involves evaluating the effectiveness of texts and prompts test takers to consider improvements in this aspect. This category constitutes the remaining 20% of the section, with 8 to 12 questions.
SAT Math
Algebra
- centers around linear equations, systems of linear equations, and functions. Tasks within this category require the creation of equations to depict real-life scenarios, the solution of equations and systems of equations, and the identification of connections between various representations of linear relationships
Problem Solving and Data Analysis
- involves applying ratios, percentages, and proportional reasoning to address challenges in practical scenarios, spanning across disciplines like science and social science. Additionally, it encompasses interpreting relationships depicted graphically and scrutinizing statistical data
Advanced Math
- concentrates on the mathematical concepts essential for advancing studies in disciplines like science or economics, as well as for pursuing careers in STEM fields encompassing science, technology, engineering, and math. Proficiency in this area involves a grasp of intricate equations or functions, serving as groundwork for future coursework in calculus and advanced statistical studies.
Additional Topics in Math
- The SAT Math Test incorporates six questions under Additional Topics in Math, distributed between the no-calculator and calculator sections—three in each. These questions may cover subjects such as geometry, trigonometry, radian measure, and complex numbers.
